Artist bio template
Copy the template that fits where your bio will appear and fill in the brackets. Delete any line you can't fill honestly; a shorter bio is better than one with filler.

Long template (EPK and website)
Paragraph 1, who you are: [Name] is a [genre] [artist] from [place] who [your angle in one line]. Paragraph 2, background: [How you started, what shaped your sound, who you play with]. Paragraph 3, achievements: [Releases, shows, radio, press, playlists, with names and years]. Paragraph 4, what's next: [Upcoming release, tour or collaboration, with dates]. Optional: For fans of [artist], [artist] and [artist].
How to fill in the brackets well
- •Genre: be precise. 'Melodic techno' beats 'electronic'; 'bedroom pop' beats 'pop'.
- •What makes you different: a subject you write about, an instrument, a way of recording.
- •Milestones: names and years. 'Played Harbour Sounds Festival 2025' rather than 'played festivals'.
- •For fans of: pick artists your listeners actually know, two or three at most.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a standard artist bio format?
Most press bios follow the same order: who you are, background, achievements, what's next. The templates on this page follow that order so journalists can find what they need quickly.
Should I use the same bio everywhere?
Use the same facts everywhere but adjust the length: a short version for social profiles, a medium one for streaming platforms and a long one for your EPK.
