How to label AI music on Spotify, YouTube and TikTok
Every big platform now has a way to say that AI was involved in a release, and some apply labels automatically. Labelling it yourself is simpler, avoids surprises and, on Spotify's own account, doesn't hurt your reach.

Spotify: AI credits through your distributor
Spotify supports AI disclosures in song credits through the DDEX standard, which lets you say where AI was used: vocals, instruments or production. You set it when delivering the release through a distributor that supports it, not in the Spotify app. Spotify says disclosing doesn't lead to down-ranking.
YouTube: the altered or synthetic content setting
When you upload, YouTube asks whether the video contains realistic altered or synthetic content. Tick it when the video or audio could be mistaken for something real, such as an AI voice that sounds like a real person. YouTube can also add the label itself, and creators who repeatedly skip disclosure risk penalties.
TikTok and Instagram
TikTok has an AI-generated content toggle in the post settings and can label content automatically when it detects AI metadata. Instagram and Facebook use an 'AI info' label. Using the toggle yourself is easier than having a post flagged later.
How to say it in your own words
A short, matter-of-fact line works best. Put the focus on your part:
Lyrics and arrangement by me, vocals and production generated with Suno.
This song was created with AI tools (Suno) from my own lyrics and edited in Ableton.
Write yours in seconds
Finished the song? Describe it in one sentence and Textlino writes a promo post that talks about your idea and your part in it.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to label AI-generated music?
Platform rules differ. YouTube requires disclosure of realistic altered or synthetic content, TikTok asks you to label AI-generated content, and Spotify's AI credits are voluntary but supported. Labelling is the safe default.
Will labelling my song as AI hurt its reach?
Spotify has said it doesn't down-rank tracks for disclosing AI use. Being caught hiding it is a bigger risk, with distributors and platforms able to remove releases.
