How to write a Spotify artist bio
Your Spotify bio sits under the About section of your artist profile. Listeners who tap it already like a song and want to know who made it. You can write up to 1,500 characters in Spotify for Artists.

Where to edit it
Log in to Spotify for Artists, open your profile, go to About and edit the bio. It updates as soon as you save. You need to have claimed your artist profile first; your distributor or label can help if you haven't.
Lead with the sentence a new listener needs
Most people only read the first two lines before the text is cut off. Put your one-sentence introduction there: who you are, what you sound like and where you are from.
Use the links
Spotify lets you link to other artists, songs and playlists inside the bio. Link collaborators and your own playlists; it keeps listeners inside your world instead of sending them back to search.
Keep it to about 80 to 120 words
1,500 characters is the limit, not the target. A medium-length bio of one or two short paragraphs is easier to read on a phone.
Ola Sowa is a producer from Kraków who makes slow, melodic electronic music at night. Her songs start as voice memos on the tram home and end up on tape, hiss and all. Her debut single 'Night Bus' came out in 2026. New music every few months; follow to catch the next one.
Change it with every release
Swap the last line whenever you release something. A bio that mentions your newest track tells listeners the profile is alive.
